Yellowstone National Park Trip, September 2014

In September, I had the pleasure of visiting Yellowstone National Park. This was the first time that I have ever visited Montana and Wyoming. It was an opportunity that I am glad I decided to do.

Ever since I was pursuing my photography degree in college, I have always wanted to take a Photography Destination Workshop. I used to read Photography magazines and enjoy perusing through the ads in the back on the many different photography trips.

I got that opportunity when at the beginning of this year I saw that Canon was holding a Destination Workshop to Yellowstone National Park with Explorer of Light photographer Adam Jones. The time of year the trip was scheduled was a great time of year, so I signed up and took the vacation time from work.

To say that I tried to read up and preplan for what I was going to be experiencing is an understatement. I never knew how wonderful the outdoors could be. I fully understand now why well known explorers like John Colter and Lewis and Clark found this place to be awe inspiring.

I took many photographs while visiting Yellowstone, and I only got to experience a portion of what it had to offer. I hope to get the opportunity to visit Yellowstone again in the future. On my trip, I visited several locations in Yellowstone:

Old Faithful

Midway Geyser Basin

Grand Prismatic Spring

Lower Falls, Yellowstone River

Canyon Village

Yellowstone Lake

So please take a look at some of the photos from my trip, and I hope that they encourage you to make a trip out there if you have never experienced this wonderful place.
